Humsafar Express trains will have dynamic pricing
CHENNAI: The recently announced Humsafar Express trains will have

The railway ministry has also introduced discount pricing on vacant berths in Humsafar Express trains. Vacant berths left after the first charting would be offered for current booking. Tickets under current booking shall be sold at the last price sold for that class with 10% discount on last price while other supplementary charges would be levied in full.
Southern Railway will get two Humsafar Express trains -- Chennai-Ahmedabad Express and Trichy-Sri Ganganagar Humsafar Express.
Out of the total number of seats, 10% will be allotted for tatkal and some seats for the duty pass quota.
For the remaining seats, the first block of 50% will be available on the base fare of the Humsafar Express train and there will be a 10% increase for every 10% block of tickets.
The base far of the Humsafar train shall be 1.5 times that of base fare of AC-3tier superfast mail and express trains. The tatkal tickets will cost 1.5 times of the Humsafar basic fares.
Here is the sample pricing mechanism. If the fare for mail/express trains is Rs 960, that of the first 50% tickets for Humsafar would be Rs 1,104. The next 10% would be Rs 1,214, Rs 1,325, Rs 1,435, Rs 1,546 and Rs 1,656 respectively.
