NEW DELHI: FMCG major Hindustan Unilever (HUL) on Tuesday said chief financial officer (CFO) Sridhar Ramamurthy will be elevated as senior vice-president (finance) for global markets at parent Unilever from July 1.
The appointment of Ramamurthy at Unilever, who is the executive director (finance & IT) and CFO of HUL at present, was informed by HUL in a BSE filing.
"He will be part of the global markets executive of Unilever and based in London," the company said.
P B Balaji, who is the vice-president of finance at Unilever Americas Supply Chain Company, will succeed Ramamurthy as executive director (finance & IT) and CFO. He will join the HUL board and will be part of the management committee. Balaji's appointment was approved by the board of directors of HUL on March 11, after the nomination and remuneration committee recommended his name to the board.
Balaji joined HUL in May 1993 and has worked in various roles in HUL. Prior to moving to Unilever in 2011, Balaji was VP (finance) for the home & personal care business of HUL. The changes are effective from July 1, the company said.
Indian executives from HUL who have made it to leadership roles in the parent company include Harish Manwani, who is the chief operating officer, and Nitin Paranjpe, president of Unilever's home care business.
