How to Link PAN and Aadhaar by Paying Rs 1000 Penalty

Before seeking to link PAN and Aadhaar, a late penalty of Rs. 1,000 must be paid. The PAN card will stop working on July 1st 2023 if the PAN-Aadhaar linkage is not completed by June 30th 2023.

There is a Rs 1,000 fine if someone wishes to link their PAN and Aadhaar right now. Making a payment on the NSDL portal using Challan No. ITNS 280 will enable you to achieve this.

On the Tax Information Network website (Other Receipts), Challan No. ITNS 280 with Major head 0021 (Income Tax Other than Companies) and Minor head 500 can be used to pay late fees.

Go to https://onlineservices.tin.egov-nsdl.com/etaxnew/tdsnontds.jsp to continue with your Aadhaar PAN link request.

Select Challan No. ITNS 280 from the list of available options to submit a PAN-Aadhaar link request.

Next, choose the appropriate tax.

Make a single challan payment under Major head 0021 (Income Tax Other Than Companies) and Minor head 500. (Other Receipts).

You can pay with a credit card or through net banking. Fill out the form after selecting your preferred mode.

Enter the details such as PAN, address, and assessment year.

Enter the Captcha and pay.

Taxpayers should consider filing a PAN-Aadhaar linkage request four to five days after making a payment because NSDL (formerly Protean) payments take some time to show up on the e-Filing website.
