Government e-Marketplace to bring back seller finance programme
NEW DELHI: In a move that will step up financing for sellers registered on its platform, the government's public procurement platform Government e-Marketplace (GeM) will soon launch the second phase of its GeM Sahay initiative. Under the programme, loan coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh will be provided to sellers. In a briefing on Wednesday, GeM CEO Prashant Kumar Singh said that the loan approval time will merely be ten minutes.
Unlike the first phase that allowed only sole proprietors to avail of the benefits, GeM Sahay 2.0 will be expanded to all sellers to avail collateral-free loans to meet working capital requirements.
