Global nod for Dilip De’s digital artworks

Mumbai: The

Creators Project

(CP), launched by Intel and Vice Media to celebrate creativity, the arts and technology, has chosen to feature businessman and art collector

Dilip De

for his breakthrough in using a smartphone and stylus to create art.

In its mission statement, CP describes itself as a platform that “features the works of visionary artists across multiple disciplines who are using technology to push the boundaries of creative expression”. Launched in 2009, the project has so far featured more than 600 creators from around the world, including David Bowie, Spike Jonze and United Visual Artists.

Last week, 24 pieces of digital art created by De went up at the Jehangir Gallery and were greeted with enthusiastic response. The entire proceeds of the exhibition, which was launched by Amitabh Bachchan, are earmarked to go to a cancer charity.
