From Tuesday, health certificate needed by some to enter India

NEW DELHI: From Tuesday, people flying in from Italy and

South Korea

or flying in after having visited these two countries will need a medical certificate saying they are corona-free to enter India.

Last Friday, India had said

Italian

and South Korean nationals who have been granted fresh Indian visa issued after March 5, 2020, and have tested negative for COVID-19 medical certificate from the designated laboratories of Italy and South Korea, are eligible to enter into India. “This shall come into force from 00:00 hours of March 10, 2020,” the Bureau of

Immigration

had said in an order Friday.

Accordingly, Air India Tweeted Monday: “In accordance with circular of DGCA, addition to Visa restrictions already in place, passengers traveling from/having visited Italy or Republic of Korea and entering India will need certificate of having tested negative for COVID-19 from the labs authorised by these countries.”
