Covasant secures ISO/IEC 42001:2023 accredited certification for AI management system
HYDERABAD: Covasant Technologies on Tuesday said it has secured ISO/IEC 42001:2023 accredited certification, becoming one of a small number of organizations worldwide to hold the international standard for an Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS).
The company said the milestone places it alongside global technology leaders such as IBM, Microsoft, AWS and Snowflake in demonstrating independently verified AI governance practices.
The ISO/IEC 42001 certification evaluates how AI risks are managed across the full lifecycle, including governance controls, accountability and continuous improvement.
It is aimed at addressing a key barrier facing enterprises: moving AI initiatives from pilot projects into mission-critical production with lower operational and regulatory risk, it added.
Covasant said its agent management suite, which is part of its Agentic AI-powered services-as-software platform, now provides audited code and governance-led frameworks designed to support industry-specific autonomous agents across multiple domains. The company added that the new AIMS certification complements its existing ISO/IEC 27001 security and ISO/IEC 27701 privacy certifications, creating what it described as a “governance-led” ecosystem for regulated sectors including banking, healthcare and manufacturing.
Covasant Technologies chairman & managing director CV Subramanyam, said the certification reflects a focus on building “risk-aware, ethical” AI aligned with global best practices.
Srikanth Chakkilam, CEO and executive director, Covasant Technologies, said the accreditation validates that Covasant’s platform provides a disciplined environment where AI agents can be trusted to operate at enterprise grade.
The company also cited industry data showing widespread AI use but limited scaling, and pointed to Gartner forecasts that shadow AI breaches could affect up to 40% of enterprises by 2030.
