NEW DELHI: The Central Industrial Security Force (
CISF) on Monday took over the security of the upcoming Noida International Airport (NIA), making this the 70
th airport under the agency’s cover. In the first phase, 1,047 CISF personnel will be deployed under a chief aerodrome security officer (CASO). Deployment will be scaled up with operational requirements as passenger traffic and flights increase.
The CISF will take care of NIA’s perimeter and access control; passenger and baggage screening; terminal & landside security; deployment of quick response teams and coordination with local law enforcement agencies.
Praveer Ranjan, IPS, special DG airports, CISF, said: “CISF is proud to take charge of aviation security at NIA. Our aviation security group will implement globally benchmarked procedures and layered security measures to safeguard passengers, crew, and critical assets. We are committed to working closely with the airport operator and stakeholders to maintain the highest levels of security.”
NIA COO Kiran Jain said: “The induction of CISF is a key milestone in our preparedness journey. Security is central to our vision of offering safe, seamless, and world-class passenger experiences. We are privileged to partner with CISF in ensuring uncompromising standards of aviation safety.”
NIA is going to be inaugurated on October 30 and operations are going to begin in 45 days after that or around mid-December.
