Britannia ropes in Kohli as CEO, Berry made VC
Mumbai: In a top-level reshuffle, biscuit major Britannia Industries has appointed Rajneet Kohli as the CEO, while Varun Berry has been elevated as executive vice-chairman & MD.
Britannia Industries said the changes are with immediate effect and Kohli will report to Berry.
Kohli joins Britannia from food services company Jubilant FoodWorks (Domino’s), where he delivered sustained profitable growth and helped it emerge as the largest QSR chain in the country with over 1,600 stores. He was president and chief business officer for over four years.
Berry said Kohli’s experience of building high-performance businesses and profitable brands is strongly aligned with Britannia’s vision of becoming a “responsible global total foods company”. “Rajneet’s proven track record of scaling up businesses and building highly engaged teams makes him a perfect fit for the organisation. I look forward to partnering with Rajneet to lead us to the next phase of growth,” said Berry.
In his career of over 25 years, Kohli has served in numerous senior leadership roles. Prior to Jubilant FoodWorks, he also has worked in Coca-Cola and Asian Paints. He has also been instrumental in leading several transformational changes deeply embedded with technology.
“As one of India’s leading food companies with over a 100-year legacy, Britannia has an exceptional track record of innovation and serving consumers with exemplary standards. I feel privileged and am truly excited for what lies ahead of us at Britannia,” Kohli said.
A commerce graduate from Punjab University, Kohli did his MBA from University of Wales, Cardiff. The Rs 14,000-crore Britannia Industries is India’s leading bakery foods company whose products are consumed in over half of Indian households.
