BHOPAL: On the theme of me and my company, Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), BHEL, Bhopal organized an interaction program - MECOM (Management Employee Communication) recently. In the programme the employees could directly share their suggestions with the top management of the organization, thus stimulating a sense of belonging of the employees with the organization.

Prasad, executive director, BHEL, Bhopal speaking on this occasion threw light on the recent economic situation on BHEL, Bhopal. "The prime challenge before the company at present is to enhance productivity level while simultaneously reducing operating cost. Executives, supervisors and workers of this company are able to tackle any situation and BHEL, Bhopal has the history of clocking any target with the joint effort of employees. The target for 2013-14 may appear difficult, however gradually all efforts will be made to achieve the slated target," opined Prasad.
Girish Shrivastava, GM, HR in his address informed the gathering about the first meeting of MECOM held back in 1978. He said the process slowly gathered pace and now is practiced in India as well as abroad. He also educated the gathering about the benefits received from the process.
Manoj Varma, AGM made a comparative presentation on the challenges BHEL is facing from other companies with respect to the current business scenario. He gave a brief description about the global power equipment manufacturing companies as well as companies from Asia and Southeast. He also laid stress on different parameters of BHEL.The presentation received immense appreciation from the gathering.
Earlier G Prakash, AGM, HRDC welcoming the guests threw light on the objective of MECOM. Later large number of employees shared valuable suggestion demonstrating a sense of commitment for the company.
