The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issues a comprehensive state and region-specific holiday calendar annually.

During official holidays, customers can perform both monetary and non-monetary transactions through digital channels including Internet banking, SMS banking, and WhatsApp banking facilities. To utilise these remote banking services, clients must complete the necessary registration process beforehand.

The RBI categorises bank holidays under two main sections: the Negotiable Instruments Act Holiday, and Banks' Closure of Accounts.
