NEW DELHI: The prices of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) on Wednesday was slashed by 1.5 per cent while the prices of commercial LPG for hotel were cut by Rs 14.5 per 19-kg cylinder in the monthly revision.
The rates of ATF in Delhi decreased by Rs 1,401.37 per kilolitre to Rs 90,455.47 per kl following the reduction, as reported by state-owned fuel retailers.
Earlier, the prices were increased for two consecutive month. It was increased by Rs 2,941.5 per kl on November 1, and Rs 1,318.12 per kl on December 1, 2024.
The ATF price in Mumbai was reduced to Rs 84,511.93 per kl on Wednesday from the previous Rs 85,861.02 per kl.
Additionally, the commercial LPG price in Delhi declined to Rs 1,804 per 19-kg cylinder after a reduction of Rs 14.5. This marks the first reduction in prices following five consecutive monthly increases, with the last hike of Rs 16.5 announce d on December 1, 2024. The cumulative increase over these five revisions amounts to Rs 172.5 per cylinder.
Meanwhile, the current commercial LPG rates are Rs 1,756 in Mumbai, Rs 1,911 in Kolkata, and Rs 1,966 in Chennai per 19-kg cylinder.
The variations in ATF and LPG prices across states are due to different local taxes including VAT.
IOC, BPCL, and HPCL adjust ATF and cooking gas prices monthly, considering average international fuel prices and foreign exchange rates.
Petrol and diesel prices remains unchanged since a Rs 2 per litre reduction in mid-March before general elections.
