Mumbai: Billionaire businessman Anil Ambani, noted film maker Steven Spielberg and former eBay president Jeff Skoll are joining hands to form a new film, television and digital content company, named Amblin Partners.
Ambani's Reliance Entertainment, Spielberg's DreamWorks Studios, Skoll's Participant Media will form the joint venture company which will be led by CEO Michael Wright and president & COO Jeff Small, Reliance Entertainment said in a statement.
Amblin is the name of a short film made by Spielberg that kicked off the noted director's career.
Amblin Partners' ongoing film projects, which are in various stages of production, include `The BFG' and `The Light Between Oceans', which are scheduled for release by Disney in 2016. Other projects include `The Girl on the Train', `A Dog's Purpose', and `Ready Player One', the last one a co-production between Amblin Partners and Warner Brothers, the famous Hollywood studio. Upcoming shows from Amblin TV include `All the Way', an HBO movie directed by Jay Roach and starring Bryan Cranston, and `American Gothic,' a summer series that will air on CBS.
