NEW DELHI: Air Sahara on Friday announced plans to start direct flight service to Kathmandu from September 1. Besides, the airline is also in talks with concerned authorities in India and Bangladesh to start operations to Dhaka.
The airline will connect Kathmandu with Delhi and Mumbai. The one-way Delhi-Kathmandu economy fare has been fixed at Rs 4,265 (plus taxes), while a return ticket would cost Rs 8,155.
The Mumbai-Kathmandu (economy) one-way fare has been fixed at Rs 8,500 (plus taxes).
"Air Sahara is strengthening international network and Kathmandu is an important destination as it has witnessed a 33% increase in air travellers from India in 2003. We hope this connectivity will help in promoting cultural and economic exchanges between the two countries," airline CEO Rono J Dutta said. The airline, he said, will also offer holiday packages in the Himalayan kingdom. The package, including a 3-night stay in Kathmandu and a return ticket from Delhi, would cost Rs 8,605 plus Rs 1,100 as taxes.
