How to update Aadhaar Card details
From banks to mobile network providers every one is asking customers to link their account with Aadhaar number. So, it has become important that all the details given in your Aadhaar card should be correct and updated.
You might want to update your Aadhaar details for various reasons, for example, you may have gotten married and hence want to changed your surname or you might have moved to a different city or locality and want to update your address in Aadhaar card or even lost/changed your mobile number and want to update the same.
Updating your Aadhaar details is easy and can be done online. Here is a step-by-step guide:
1) Sign in to the official Aadhaar portal at https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/update
2) Now to start the process enter your 12-digit Aadhaar Card number in the field provided. A one time verification message will be sent to your registered mobile number.
3) Enter the OTP received to log in to your Aadhar account. This OTP verification ensures that your Aadhaar Card details are not being manipulated by anyone else.
4) As you enter the OTP, you will be directed to "Data Update Request" page, where you can mark which data is incorrect and how you wish to update it. All the data changed in the above field will reflect in your Aadhaar Card later.
5) Next you will have to upload supporting proof of all the data you have changed, for example, if you have changed address, you need to provide address proof.
6) Once done, move forward to the "BPO Service Provider Selection" wherein you need to choose BPO Service Provider of your area.
Once the process is successfully completed, you can download a copy of the update verification for future reference.
