The recent opening of the Ayodhya International Airport is a step in the right direction. Industry experts have already appealed to the government to declare high-potential tourism regions like Ayodhya, Hampi, and Bodh Gaya as Special Tourism Investment Regions (SITR) so that these destinations are prioritised, and all the powers required for their planning and development are transferred to a tourism development authority.”
