Melbourne Festival to celebrate Aamir Khan’s cinematic journey

Melbourne is set to welcome actor Aamir Khan as the Chief Guest of the 16th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), taking place from 14–24 August 2025. The acclaimed actor-filmmaker will be honoured with a special retrospective celebrating his four-decade-long cinematic journey.
IFFM 2025 will spotlight Khan’s legacy through a curated selection of his most impactful films, culminating in the screening of his latest release, Sitaare Zameen Par. The film, which follows a basketball coach mentoring a team of neurodivergent adults, has earned widespread acclaim for its sensitive portrayal of inclusivity and community.
Khan expressed his excitement about connecting with audiences and sharing stories that “celebrate neurodivergence and empathy.”
IFFM 2025 promises a dynamic 10-day lineup of films, masterclasses, and cultural programming, with Aamir Khan’s retrospective set to be a standout event.
