Deewaanapan

<arttitle><b>Deewaanapan</b></arttitle>
cast : arjun rampal, diya mirza director : what direction? rating : ** hmmm, there's no business like snow business. boy greets girl at a swiss ski resort which is meant to be in dalhousie. boy serenades same girl in south african savannahs which are meant to be in santa cruz. boy plays basketball in howard college but air re re, the producer couldn't fly the team to harvard. and so deewaanapan, directed by ashu trikha for prolific producer vashu bhagnani, can at least boast of a bang-on title. crazypan, if you want it, you got it. geee. boy student spins like a top around the switzerpur sweetie (diya mirza), whether they're covered to their eyelids in woollies or carrying the burden of their amour like railway coolies. sweetie's powerful dad (vinod khanna huffing-puffing away at a sherlock holmes pipe), understandably, doesn't approve, and looks at his babe's baby photos tearfully. eeeps weep. so the boy's family is deprived of breakfast milk (the packs are slashed with a blade), phone connections are cut and yo-ho-ho, basketball boy's dad is thrown into jail. ail. after much gore- spewing, bone-bashing and jackie chan-like yeooows and aaarghs, dad aims a bullet at the boy's forehead. clang bang jhing jhang, the romeo and juliet of this utterly storyless caper have had their fish-'n'-chips. frankly, neither anyone from the acting nor the technical crew impresses in this deewaana...pain. enough said and suffered `cause this effort revels in just about p.p..p.. passing muster.
