Habibs, along with CRY recently launched this one-year programme through which 20 scholarships will be given out to underprivileged children to train at Habib''s salons over the country.

Hairstylists Habib spoke to Bangalore Times about this initiative: "Children have a special place in our lives and the less privileged ones have a right to a bright future too."
While a tie-up with Shopper''s Stop will bring down the Habibs salon to Bangalore shortly, the programme has already begun in other parts of the country. "I have been doing similar work for a long time now. This particular programme will just ensure that those children who don''t have the opportunity, will now get one," explains Habib.
The Habibs Hair Academy will also provide a free hairstyle course to 12 children chosen by CRY. According to Habib, this specialised course would equip them to face the job market with greater confidence and earn a decent livelihood. "I think it''s a very nice and noble idea. If NIFT can offer scholarships, why can''t we?"
