Suzuki reports 8.3% YoY growth in August 2022: Hayabusa, V-Strom 650XT, Katana drive sales

Suzuki Motorcycle India, the two-wheeler subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan registered a Year-on-Year sales growth of 8.3% in August 2022. Last month, the company reported an overall sales of 79,559 units as compared to 73,463 units sold in the same month last year. Suzuki, the Japanese manufacturer reported a 4.4% Month-over-Month (MoM) growth, however saw a decline in export numbers with domestic sales on rise, said the official statement.

Recently, Suzuki Motorcycle India Limited launched its Katana motorcycle across the country at a price point of Rs 13.61 lakh (ex-showroom). The Katana uses a 999cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four cylinder engine, producing 152 hp@11,000 rpm and 106 Nm@9,250 rpm. With this launch, the brand now has 3 big bikes in its portfolio - Suzuki Hayabusa, Suzuki V-Strom 650XT and Suzuki Katana.
“In August 2022, we recorded sales of 79,559 units, which resulted in an overall growth of 8.3% as compared to the same month last year. This sustained growth indicates the rising demand for Suzuki two-wheeler products in India and overseas. With the festive season approaching, we look forward to an overall positive market scenario in terms of demand and supply. Considering the gradual improvement in the availability of semiconductors, we are confident that the company will be able to retain this sales momentum,” said Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd.
