Gurugram police have announced that traffic challans can now be settled using Paytm, UPI, or other online modes. From Thursday onwards, paying e-challans has become easier with the integration of UPI payments through apps such as Paytm. This initiative is aimed at boosting transparency and convenience.

This move aligns with the digital payment preferences of Gurugram's residents, as stated by DCP Virender Vij. This year, traffic rule violators in Gurugram have collectively paid over Rs 31 crore, settling more than 14 lakh challans. DCP Vij noted that a new initiative, involving the use of drones for monitoring lane changes, was also introduced earlier this year to enhance traffic regulation.

How to pay e-challans on Paytm

To pay your Gurugram Police traffic challan through the Paytm app on your smartphone, begin by opening the application. Select the "Recharge & Pay Bills" section and scroll down to locate and select "Challan." From the options that show up, choose "Gurugram Police" as the relevant traffic authority. Enter the required details, such as your challan number, vehicle registration number, or driving license number. Click on "Proceed" to access information about the fine amount. Opt for "UPI" as your preferred payment method, select your preferred UPI app, and enter the necessary PIN. Confirm the payment to complete the process, and you will receive a message confirming the successful settlement of your challan.

This convenient addition to Gurugram's traffic management system is expected to encourage timely settlements and reduce pending challans. Additionally, the transparency of UPI transactions fosters trust and accountability throughout the process.
