Japanese luxury carmaker Lexus India recently announced that it will increase the prices of its ES 300h sedan by up to 1.8 percent. The price hike will be effective from July 1, 2023. The company decided to increase the price of Lexus ES 300h in order to offset the rise in input costs.
In an official statement, Naveen Soni, President of Lexus India said," As a part of our commitment to excellence and despite our best efforts to mitigate the effects, the current circumstances require us to raise the prices for the Lexus ES 300h luxury sedan."
Further, he added, "This price adjustment is purely for the Lexus ES 300h and will be effective beginning 1st of July 2023."
The Lexus ES 300h luxury sedan is available in two variants - ES Exquisite, priced at Rs 63,10,000 and ES Luxury, which costs Rs 69,70,000 (both prices, ex-showroom). The price hike of 1.8% will be effective on both variants.
Under the hood, the new Lexus ES 300h is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol engine, generating a max power of 174 hp and a peak torque of 221 Nm. The engine is mated with an electric motor, which produces 117 hp and 202 Nm torque. Combined output of this powertrain is 213 hp, mated to an e-CVT gearbox.
The luxury carmaker showcased this five-seater sedan at the Auto Expo 2023 in January 2023 and commenced bookings the same day.
