Sunny Deol criticised for seatbelt violation while driving Land Rover Defender: Watch
Bollywood actor Sunny Deol has sparked a debate online after a recent video he shared on social media caught the attention of viewers for the wrong reasons. The clip, posted on Instagram, shows Deol driving his Land Rover Defender while dressed in an Army officer’s uniform, likely during the shoot of his upcoming film Border 2.
The video appears to be a casual behind-the-scenes moment, with the actor driving along a narrow road near the shoot location while listening to music. However, some viewers noticed that Deol was not wearing a seatbelt. As the stretch appeared to be a public road rather than a closed set, many online called out the traffic rule violation and left comments saying the need to follow basic traffic rules at all times.
The SUV seen in the clip is the Land Rover Defender Octa, the most powerful Defender on sale in India. It uses a 4.4-litre mild-hybrid V8 powerplant that belts out a massive 626 hp and 750 Nm of torque. This engine comes paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive setup. The Defender Octa was launched last year in India at a starting price of Rs 2.59 crore, ex-showroom.
However, the conversation around the video has moved away from the SUV itself and towards the importance of wearing a seatbelt. Recently, actor Sohail Khan was also caught on camera riding a motorcycle without a helmet. The incident drew criticism online, following which he issued an apology to fans for violating traffic rules.
