Electric vehicle manufacture Omega Seiki Mobility has marked a significant milestone in its global expansion with the opening of its first overseas assembly facility in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza). The company has committed an investment of USD 25 million (around AED 92 million) over the next five years to establish the plant, which will cater to the growing demand for clean mobility solutions in the Middle East and Africa.Spread across more than 42,000 square feet, the new facility will not only assemble OSM’s portfolio of electric two- and three-wheelers but will also handle the storage and distribution of spare parts and automotive components. The plant is expected to begin operations by the end of 2025 and will create over 100 jobs in its first phase. Its strategic location in Dubai will give OSM access to over two billion consumers across the Middle East and African markets, while also boosting UAE-India trade in the clean-tech sector.

While the company’s primary focus remains on electric vehicles, OSM also plans to introduce CNG-powered models for select African countries. The move reflects the company’s understanding that in many regions, CNG can serve as a practical clean-fuel bridge until EV charging infrastructure is more widely available.
OSM’s current product line includes the Rage+ three-wheeler cargo carrier and the Stream passenger three-wheeler, both offering up to 270 km of range. The vehicles come with features like fast charging, battery-swapping technology, and IoT-enabled real-time tracking for fleet optimisation. The company has a strong presence in India with more than 160 dealerships and over 20,000 vehicles already on the road.
