Continental Tires has launched its new all-terrain tyre, the CrossContact A/T², in India, marking the debut with a track day event at Dot Goa 4X4. India is among the first markets globally to receive the next-generation product, which has been developed for use across varied and challenging terrains. Continental says that it has been designed for SUVs and 4x4 vehicles, the CrossContact A/T² is engineered to deliver consistent grip on surfaces such as mud, gravel, sand, wet roads and rocky trails, while maintaining stable on-road performance.
The tyre features technologies including the BlackPaw compound for consistent traction in varying temperatures and conditions, self-cleaning shoulder blocks to clear mud and debris, rigid tread block geometry to improve braking and reduce hydroplaning, and reinforced sidewalls for added durability. The CrossContact A/T² is available through Continental’s authorised dealerships and over 200 brand stores across the country. It is offered in multiple sizes ranging from 215/70 R15 to 285/60 R18, catering to a wide range of SUV and 4x4 models.
CrossContact A/T²: Performance-Focused, Adventure-Ready
Developed for SUVs and 4x4s, the CrossContact A/T² is designed to deliver consistent traction across a wide range of surfaces, including mud, gravel, sand, wet roads and rocky trails.
The tyre aims to balance stable on-road behaviour with dependable off-road capability, targeting users who regularly drive across mixed terrain.
Key technologies include the BlackPaw compound, which is engineered to maintain grip and elasticity across varying temperatures and road conditions. Its self-cleaning shoulder design uses open tread blocks and stone ejectors to clear mud and debris, while the rigid tread block geometry is intended to reduce hydroplaning and improve braking performance. Reinforced sidewalls add resistance against cuts and abrasions, supporting durability during off-road use.
“India’s 4x4 vehicle segment is experiencing sharp growth, driven by a growing passion for adventure and long-distance travel.
