Audi F1 team official name revealed, global launch in Jan' 26: All you need to know
Audi has taken another major step towards its much-anticipated Formula One entry by confirming the official name of its works team and outlining the roadmap to its 2026 debut season. The outfit will compete as the Audi Revolut F1 Team, with its full global unveiling scheduled to take place in Berlin on January 20, 2026.
The announcement brings together Audi’s factory-backed Formula One programme and global fintech company Revolut, following the confirmation of Revolut as the team’s title partner in July 2025.
Audi says the partnership with Revolut plays a central role in shaping the team’s identity. Alongside branding, Revolut will be integrated into the team’s day-to-day operations, with Revolut Business supporting financial processes and Revolut Pay being used for payments on the team’s online merchandise store. Fans can also expect exclusive experiences, digital activations and app-based benefits linked to the partnership.
The Berlin event on January 20 will mark the first time the Audi Revolut F1 Team presents its complete identity to the world. A day later, on January 21, the venue will open to the public, giving fans a chance to witness the team’s debut identity up close.
One of the key highlights of the launch will be the reveal of the team’s full 2026 race livery. This follows the earlier unveiling of the Audi R26 Concept in November and will offer the clearest look yet at how Audi’s design philosophy translates onto the Formula One grid.
Leadership of the project includes former Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto and Jonathan Wheatley, with Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto confirmed as the team’s drivers.
On the technical side, development of Audi’s Formula One power unit has been ongoing in Germany since 2022. The engine is built around a 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 combined with a hybrid system, developed in collaboration with bp. It will run on sustainable fuels and features a tripled electric motor output in line with the 2026 regulations.
Following the official launch in January, the Audi Revolut F1 Team will begin its on-track preparations with initial tests in Barcelona later that month. This will be followed by public pre-season testing in Bahrain across two sessions from February 11–13 and February 18–20. The team will then make its competitive debut at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, scheduled for March 6–8, 2026.
