NEW DELHI: UM Lohia Two Wheelers (UML) has introduced two new variants of its
Renegade
Commando cruiser - the
Classic
and the
Mojave
. Priced at Rs 1.89 lakh and Rs 1.8 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) respectively, the new trims get lots of new cosmetic elements along with Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) over the base model.
Commenting on the
launch
of the new bikes, Rajeev Mishra, CEO, UML, said that there is a latent demand for such bikes with varied customer needs emerging in India. "The customers are aware, ready to experiment and follow their gut," he said,
We are committed to setting a new benchmark in providing excellence not only in our products but also in service experience," Mishra added.

Commando
Classic is a vintage styled version in the series that also gets some touring accessories as standard. Draped in a two-tone copper white or glossy black paint scheme, the bike receives lots of chrome garnishing. The standard touring package includes saddlebag, tank cover with a storage pouch, tall polycarbonate windshield, highway engine guards and a pillion back rest.

, the Renegade Commando Mojave is inspired from the Mojave desert, North America’s largest and driest desert. Along with a desert paint scheme on the all matt black theme, it
features
complimenting touches to the accessories and the Mojave Desert logos. It also features the same touring package but misses on the windshield while receives a fuel tank cell phone pad.

Both the bikes share the same 279.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that powers the entire Renegade range of cruisers. However, the new variants get EFI instead of a carburetor type fuel system for a better response. Mated to a six-speed gearbox, the 4-valve motor makes 25.15PS at 8,500rpm and 23Nm of torque at 7,000rpm.
The Renegade Commando motorcycles have a fuel tank of 18-litres and both the new trims claim a kerb weight of 179kg. Other key features of the bike are wide tyres, front disc brake and a USB charging port.

range of cruisers competes with the likes of the
Royal Enfield
motorcycles.
