TVS Motor Company on Monday launched a sporty 125cc scooter, the NTorq 125, at Rs 58,750 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Developed using the company's vast experience on race tracks, the sporty NTorq is TVS' new flagship in the scooter segment.
The TVS NTorq 125 gets a very sharp, aerodynamic design which is inspired by stealth aircrafts. The scooter shares a lot of elements with the much-appreciated Graphite concept which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2016.
The scooter features a sharp headlamp with daytime running light (DRL) on the front apron while indicators are mounted on the handlebar visor. The rear gets a sleek profile that ends with an interesting LED tail lamp and it also features a stubby exhaust muffler. The scooter gets 12-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and the overall design looks quite striking with dual-tone paint schemes.
Making its debut on the new scooter, the TVS's advanced 'SmartXonnect' technology platform makes the Ntoq 125 India's first scooter with Bluetooth connectivity. Moreover, its fully-digital LCD instrument cluster offers navigation assist, caller ID and parking location assist besides all the standard display data. The instrument cluster offers three different modes of information display -- Street, Sport and Ride Stats -- and also features a lap timer, top- and average-
speed recorder, and engine oil temperature gauge along with all the basic information.
Propelling the TVS NTorq id an all-new CVTi-REVV 124.79cc, three-valve engine that provides the 116kg weight scooter with 9.4PS of power at 7,500rpm and 10.5Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. TVS claims that the scooter will offer a top speed of 95kmph.
The TVS' new flagship scooter comes with the features like front telescopic suspension, tubeless tyres, USB charging socket and a front petal disc brake.
In the Indian market, the TVS NTorq 125 will compete with the likes of the Honda Grazia and the upcoming Aprilia SR 125.
