NEW DELHI: Suzuki
Motorcycles India has launched the new
Gixxer SF
ABS and with deliveries already commencing as well. The model is available in both carbureted (standard) and fuel injected (FI) versions, and is priced at Rs 1.08 lakh and Rs 1.13 lakh (both on-road, Delhi) respectively.
The newly-launched variant
features
a single channel
ABS
-- assisting the front braking unit only -- for Rs 5,000 over and above the standard trims. So, the rear disc brake - which is also a standard feature of the bike - works on the preciseness of the rider alone.
The bike looks identical to the standard variant with the same colour scheme and graphic pattern. However, one can identify it with the ABS sensor ring on the front disc brake and a dedicated moniker on the front mudguard.
Powering the
Suzuki Gixxer
series is a 155cc air-cooled engine that makes 14.8PS of power and delivers a peak torque of 14Nm. The motor comes mated to a five-speed gearbox and gets a sporty twin-port exhaust muffler.
The Suzuki
Gixxer
SF ABS also gets a fully digital instrument cluster, beefy 41mm front forks, 7-step adjustable rear monoshock and wide 140/60 section radial rear tyre among other key features.
The Gixxer is the most successful motorcycle series of SMIPL in the country that offers both naked and faired motorcycles based on a 155cc platform. Apart from the standard streetfighter model, the series offers its special edition (SP) along with three trims of the faired Gixxer SF version - standard, SP and FI (Fuel Injection).
