Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Wednesday launched its new flagship scooter, the
Grazia
, with a price tag of Rs 57,897 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new 125cc automatic scooter is a sportier avatar of the existing
Activa 125
and costs just Rs 400 more than its sibling.

Honda Grazia
aims to fetch young, urban buyers of India who want a style statement within their ride.
Commenting on the launch, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing, HMSI, said that Honda is the market leader in automatic scooters and it has raised the bar further with Grazia - 'Honda’s next big step of innovation in scooters.'
"Get ready to see the world in a new light with a bright LED headlamp. Many other segment-leading features make Grazia the most advanced urban scooter with great styling and unparalleled convenience,” he added.
The Grazia gets a very edgy and sharp design with dual-tone texture. The front apron mounted headlamp and turn indicator makes a 'V' shape which further gives it a futuristic look while the black alloy wheels (optional) enhance the sportiness in the styling. the sleek tail ends with sharp LED tail lamps -- integrated with the crystal white turn indicators which give an aerodynamic feel and it gets a stylish split rear grab rail too.
It is the first scooter in India with a factory fitted LED headlamp which promises a brighter light and better spread with a more focused and wider beam.
At the heart of the Honda Grazia ticks the same 125cc HET (Honda Eco Technology) engine which is already tested in the existing Activa 125. The motor comes mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and delivers 8.6PS of power and 10.5Nm of torque.
The scooter offers telescopic suspension along with a larger 12-inch wheel at the front to make the ride more comfortable. Both the front and rear wheels get drum type brake with Combi Brake System (CBS) as a standard feature, while the front disc brake has been offered as an optional extra. The CBS with equaliser technology equally distributes the braking force on both the front and the rear wheel while using the rear brake lever only, resulting in improved braking performance.
The segment-first features of the Honda Grazia include a fully digital instrument cluster which uses two LCD screens and looks quite interesting as well as informative. It also gets a three-step Eco Speed Indicator which claims to show realistic mileage information.
The scooter also gets some all-new convenience features including a 4-in-1 lock with seat opener switch that eliminates the need to take out the key to open the seat lock. There is a small glove box on the front which seems a more useful feature as it also gets a mobile charger within.
The Grazia comes in six colour -- metallic blue, metallic orange, white, black, matte grey and red -- and three variant options - Standard, Alloy and Deluxe. The top-end Deluxe trim is priced at Rs 62,269 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and gets most of the listed features as standard. The scooter comes in the premium category and competes with the likes of the new
