NEW DELHI: Celebrating the first anniversary of the Tigor, Tata Motors on Wednesday announced the launch of a limited edition model of its new-generation compact sedan. The anniversary model is based on the XT trim and comes equipped with a five-speed manual transmission (MT). Alongside the standard features of the Tigor XT, the limited edition features some additional exterior and interior elements, including glossy black painted roof, piano black ORVMs (outside rear view mirrors), dual-tone wheel cover, front grille with coloured insert, 'limited edition' badge, berry red rings on AC vents and premium full fabric seats.

All these additions make the

Tata Tigor Buzz

costlier by around Rs 12,000 compared to the standard XT variant. It will be available across all dealerships in India starting today, the company said.

Launched last year in March, the

Tata Tigor

is based on the company's new-generation IMPACT design philosophy. It comes with two engine options -- a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.0-litre diesel -- and offers multi-drive modes (Eco and City). The petrol version of the car is also available with automated manual transmission (AMT) option in the mid-variants.

Safety features of the model include dual airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Corner Stability Control (CSC) and reverse park assist with a camera.

"The Tigor comes with a youthful mixture of design, style and attitude. Marking a successful year today, with robust demand since its launch, it has helped us post a month on month growth. We look forward to the Tigor Buzz to be a step ahead towards extending this growth and customer satisfaction," said S.N. Barman, Head of Marketing, Sales and Customer Care, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors.

The Tata Tigor competes with the likes of the

Maruti Suzuki Dzire

,

Hyundai Xcent

, Ford Aspire, Honda Amaze and the Volkswagen Ameo.
