has launched its
redi-GO 1.0
with Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) in two variants, T (O) and S, priced at Rs 3.81 lakh and Rs 3.96 lakh (both ex-showroom. Delhi) respectively.
The Datsun
redi-GO AMT
variants cost around Rs 21,000-23,000 over their respective manual transmission variants. The car continues to get 68PS of power and 91Nm of torque from the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine which powers the manual variants as well. The AMT option, however, is not available with the 0.8-litre engine option.
The five-speed AMT gearbox can be used in both automatic as well as manual drive modes which helps while overtaking a vehicle. The transmission further gets a creep function, called the ‘Rush Hour’ mode, which helps to keep moving at slow pace in traffic without pressing the accelerator pedal.
There is no aesthetic update on the car, both inside and out, not even an AMT badge anywhere on the body. The car can only be differentiated by the gear-shifting lever from the manual version. The features of the variants also remain similar to their manual counterparts like the single-din audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, driver side airbag, central locking with remote key and front power windows.
The AMT variants of the
redi-GO
compete with the likes of the Renault
Kwid AMT
and
Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 AMT.
