NEW DELHI: Toyota
has launched the 2018 model of its
Land Cruiser Prado
in India with a starting price tag of Rs 92.6 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the third update to the luxury SUV -- which was originally introduced in 2009 -- and the new version was recently showcased at the Auto Expo 2018 after its global unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor show last year.
The new
Toyota Land Cruiser Prado
gets a redesigned hood, fenders, bumpers and grille for a fresh look.The headlamps have also been tweaked and the SUV also gets new LED tail lamps.
The cabin also receives some major updates on the dashboard to offer a refreshed cabin. The 2018
Prado
comes with a revised instrument cluster and the centre console now also takes a new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with panoramic view monitor. Heated and ventilated front seats are among the other additions to the new version.
There is no change in the powertrain and the 2018
Land Cruiser
Prado continues with the same 3.0-litre diesel motor with a five-speed automatic transmission. The engine delivers 170PS of power and 410Nm of torque which is delivered to the four-wheel-drive (standard) system in three different modes - comfort, normal and sport.
There is no localisation introduced this time as well and the SUV continues to come as a CBU (Completely Built Up) unit in the country.
