Tata Tiago EV vs Tata Tigor EV: Price, range, variants, battery comparison in pics

Tata Motors launched the Tiago EV back in September 2022 at an introductory price of Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the first 10,000 customers. However witnessing the overwhelming response, the company extended this offer to 20,000 customers. The Tiago EV recently achieved a 10,000-unit milestone in less than four months.

​The Tigor EV was launched back in 2021 and the updated version of the electric sedan was launched in November 2022 with additional features, a longer range and the introduction of two new variants. In this slideshow, let’s compare Tata Tiago EV and Tigor EV.

First, let’s compare dimensions, the Tigor EV is essentially a sedan version of the Tiago EV. The Tigor EV measures 3993 mm in length, 1677 mm in width, 1537 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2450 mm. The EV has a boot space of 316 litres and has ground clearance of 172 mm.

​The Tiago EV EV measures 3769 mm in length, 1677 mm in width, 1536 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2400 mm. The EV has a boot space of 240 litres and has ground clearance of 166mm.

​​The Tata Tiago EV features 14-inch aerodynamically designed dual-tone alloy wheels wrapped up in 175/65 EV-specific tyres. The Tigor features similarly designed 14-inch dual-tone alloy wheels wrapped up in 175/65 EV-specific tyres.

Now let’s talk about the electric motor, the Tiago EV is powered by a single PMSM electric motor which produces 74 bhp of power and 114 Nm of torque and Tata claims that the electric sedan can sprint from 0-60 in just 5.7 seconds.

​The Tigor EV too gets a single PMSM electric motor which produces 74 hp of power and 170 Nm of torque. It also reaches 0-60 mph in 5.7 seconds, just like the Tiago EV.

​​Talking about the battery pack, the Tiago EV is offered with two battery pack options - 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh. The 25 kWh battery pack come with a driving range of 315 km whereas the 19.2kWh battery offers claimed range of 250km. The Tigor EV is available with a single 26 kWh battery pack with a 315 Km claimed range.

Talking about the charging capabilities of the Tiago EV, Tata claims that it is capable of charging 10-80 per cent in 57 minutes whereas the Tigor EV can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent in around 60 minutes.

In terms of features, the Tiago EV gets a 7-inch touchscreen system, digital instrument cluster, hill start and descent assist, TPMS, automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, and push-button start/stop and cruise control. The Tiago EV also gets a multi-mode regen – first introduced with the Nexon EV Max – with four levels.

​The Tata Tigor EV features a 7-inch touch screen boosted by Harman-Kardon stereo, Apple car play, Android Auto, 30+ connected features, a digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, a cooled glovebox, rear parking camera with adaptive guidelines and auto-foldable IRVMs.

​​​The Tigor EV is also available with four trims - XE, XM, XZ+ and XZ+ Dual tone. The price for the Tigor EV ranges between Rs 12.49 lakh - Rs 13.75 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom).

​The Tata Tiago EV is available with four trims – XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Tech Lux. The price for the Tiago EV ranges between Rs 8.69 lakh - Rs 12.04 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom).

The Tata Tiago and Tigor EV compete with Citroen eC3 and MG Comet EV. The price for the Citroen eC3 ranges between Rs 11.5 lakh - 12.43 lakh. The Price for the MG Comet ranges between Rs 7.98 lakh - 9.98 lakh (all prices Ex-showroom).
