BYD YangWang U9: Here’s what happens

The secret behind these stunts lies in the U9’s Disus-X suspension system. This technology enables the car to leap over obstacles, even when unmanned. In the video, the supercar easily jumped off a 2.5-metre-long water-filled pothole with a leap of over 6 metres. This leap was followed by a jump over a field of 3.5-centimetre-high road spikes. To top it all off, this feat was achieved all while maintaining a speed of 120 kmph.

BYD YangWang U9: Battery and specs

Built on BYD's e4 platform, the Yangwang U9 houses four electric motors delivering a combined output of 1,287 hp and 1,680 Nm of torque. It can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 2.36 seconds. Moreover, the U9 features a cost-efficient 80 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, offering a range of 465 km under CLTC standards.

First launched in February 2024 at a price of 1.68 million yuan, the U9 began deliveries in August 2024. The company had previously showcased the dancing capabilities of the car, again, thanks to its advanced suspension setup.
