Pravaig Dynamics, a Bengaluru-based startup, today took the wraps off its Defy all-electric SUV, along with the price tag that starts at Rs 39.5 lakh. The SUV gathered a strong interest owing to many reasons, the primary of which is that it's been developed in India. Plus, it'll come in a wide range of colours and boast a long list of advanced features. The SUV sports a Land Rover-like rear profile, rides on multi-spoke alloy wheels and gets a large roof-mounted spoiler.

The electric SUV claims a range of 500 km on one full charge and Pravaig also say that the battery pack can be charged from 0-80 percent in 30 minutes through fast charging. The EV is claimed to be capable of a top speed of 210 km/h and a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 4.9 seconds.

Pravaig Defy electric SUV's cabin holds an array of features, top of which is a large touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity functions, a Devialet audio system, an air purifier, USB charging ports, wireless phone charging, along with a touchscreen for the rear passengers as well.


The Defy electric SUV is powered by a 90.2 kWh battery that delivers 402 bhp and 620 Nm of torque. The SUV also offers an all-wheel-drive system. The SUV is 234 mm off the ground and promises a spacious interior with 1215 mm legroom and 1050 mm of headroom.

There are 11 exterior colour options to choose from, namely, Emperor Purple, Haldi Yellow, Moon Gray, Shani Black, Hindigo, Bordeaux, 5.56 Green, Lithium, Vermillion Red, Kaziranga Green, and Siachin Blue. The Defy takes a minimalistic design language with more use of straight lines than curves. It gets a sunroof, flared front fenders, a sharply raked front and rear windscreen, black plastic cladding, and a red LED strip running along the rear.
