MG Motor India today commenced the bookings for the MG Comet EV in the Indian market. Customers can now book the Comet EV through the official website or at the MG dealerships for an initial amount of Rs 11,000. Deliveries of the Comet EV will commence this month only.

The company has also introduced the ‘Track and Trace’ features on the ‘MyMG’ app that will allow customers to trace the status of MG Comet EV bookings from their phones. The MG Comet EV is available with an MG e-Shield ownership package that covers repair and service costs. This package offers -

  • 3 years or 1 lakh km warranty
  • 3 years of Roadside Assistance (RSA)
  • 3 free labour services- First 3 scheduled services
  • The 17.3 kWh Li-ion battery gets 8 years or 1 lakh 20 thousand km warranty.
Additionally, the MG Comet EV is also offered with an option of 80 extended warranty & service packages, starting at just Rs 5,000. MG Motor recently introduced the Comet EV at a starting price of Rs 7.98 lakh for the Pace variant and goes up to Rs 9.98 lakh for the Plush variant (both prices are ex-showroom). These introductory prices will be limited to the initial 5,000 bookings only.

Moreover, MG is offering an optional buy-back program for customers in which they get an assured* buyback of 60% of the original ex-showroom value* at the end of 3 years, says the official release.

Further, it added, the MG Comet EV variants also get easy service options, including DIY via My MG App, Service on call (Remote Assistance), Service @ Home and pickup/ drop service.

“MG Comet EV has been developed with the purpose to cater to the specific needs of Indian urban consumers. With MG’s industry-first Track and Trace feature, we aim to put an end to the never-ending tussle of our customers to know about the status of their car booking. Customers will be able to experience their own MG Comet very soon,” says Gaurav Gupta, Deputy Managing Director, MG Motor India.
