We already know that MG Motor India is working on introducing a brand-new electric car in the Indian market under Rs 10 lakh, which would serve as a direct rival to the likes of Tata Tiago EV as well as the upcoming Citroen eC3. Now, the interior of the upcoming affordable EV has been revealed in a set of spy shots, for the first time.

Prior to this, the upcoming sub-Rs 10 lakh car has been spied on test a host of times, however, covered in camouflage. But this time around, the cabin of the MG Air has been snapped, revealing the dashboard design. The dashboard features a twin-display, which will consist of a large free-standing touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster.

The AC vents seem to be placed under the infotainment screen. That said, the MG Air EV will be based on the same platform as the Air EV available in foreign markets, however, the design could possibly be slightly customised for the Indian market.

The MG EV will likely feature a boxy design to maximise space inside the cabin, despite its smallish size. This will also help improve its maneuverability in urban areas, without a compromise on practicality. The small dimensions would also help MG keep the EV's weight in check, hence, improving the driving range. For reference, the Wuling Air EV has a length of under 3m, but can still seat 4 occupants.

The MG EV could be packed with a lithium-ion battery pack of about 20kWh, and could have a range of about 250-300 km on the higher-spec variant(s). As of now, the Tata Tiago EV is the only car in India to be priced under Rs 10 lakh, with a base price of Rs 8.69 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom).
