Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to launch its all-electric EQE SUV in the Indian market on September 15, 2023. After the Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan and EQB sedan, the EQE will be the third EV in the manufacturer's India line-up. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming Mercedes-Benz EQE electric SUV ahead of its launch.
Mercedes-Benz EQE: Design Built on Mercedes' EVA (Electric Vehicle Architecture) platform, the all-new EQE electric SUV largely seems similar to other EQ models. Featuring aero-optimised wheels, a sealed-off grille and clean lines, the Mercedes-Benz EQE gets unique wheel designs, restyled bumpers, and more.
Mercedes-Benz EQE: Interior The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV will be available in two different dashboard layout designs - Hyperscreen and Vertical. The Hyperscreen layout will support up to three individual displays in a single panel, while the regular variant will be equipped with a free-flowing vertical touchscreen layout. Furthermore, it gets a floating standalone digital instrument cluster.
These displays support the latest Mercedes-Benz MBUX operating system, functional via conversational speed commands like 'Hey Mercedes' prompt, and OTA software update through a SIM card.
Mercedes-Benz EQE: Powertrain and range The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV is available in multiple configurations and variants in the international market. It uses a 90.6 kWh battery, which supports 170 kW DC fast chargers. Globally, the entry-level EQE 350+ comes equipped with a single motor with an RWD setup, generating 292 hp of power and 565 Nm of torque. This variant offers a WLTP-certified range of up to 590 km.
The EQE 350 4Matic will churn out a max power of 292 hp and a peak torque of 765 Nm, and it delivers a WLTP range of up to 538 km. The top-spec EQE 500 4 Matic produces 408 hp power and an impressive torque of 858 Nm. It provides a range of up to 521 km as per WLTP cycle. Both variants receive dual-motor set-up and AWD system as standard.
As of now, Mercedes-Benz is yet to reveal which version will the Indian market receive.
Mercedes-Benz EQE: Expected price When launched, the Mercedes EQE will go against the likes of the BMW iX and the Audi Q8 e-tron electric in India. It remains to be seen if the company will import the new Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV or if it will be locally assembled. However, the EQE electric SUV is expected to be priced at around Rs 1.4 crore (ex-showroom) in the Indian market.
