Mercedes-Benz today launched its all-electric SUV, the EQE 500 4Matic in the Indian market at a price of Rs 1.39 crore (ex-showroom). After the EQB and the EQS, the Mercedes-Benz EQE is the third EV in the manufacturer's India portfolio. The brand is offering a 10-year warranty on the battery of the EQE electric SUV for the first time. The Mercedes EQE SUV will be sold in India as a CBU unit, says Mercedes-Benz. Furthermore, the company says that it has integrated the charging network in a new app, providing access to 150+ additional DC chargers beyond the franchise network.
Mercedes-Benz EQE: Exterior Following EV-specific styling, such as clean lines, a sealed-off grille and aero-optimised wheels, the Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 4Matic electric SUV gets a sloping roofline and an angled tailgate. The electric SUV receives a signature LED light bar running beneath the front grille and adaptive LED headlamps. At the side, the EQE gets illuminated running boards, flush door handles and glossy-black 20-inch alloy wheels.
Additionally, the Mercedes-Benz EQE gets air suspension, which can increase the height of the SUV by 25 mm. The boot capacity of the Mercedes-Benz EQE is 520 litres.
Mercedes-Benz EQE: InteriorTalking about the interior, the Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 gets a 56-inch 'Hyperscreen' layout, which supports three different displays. These displays use the manufacturer's latest MBUX operating system, which is functional via a voice command 'Hey Mercedes' prompt and OTA software updates via a SIM card. Other key interior features include ventilated front seats with an 8-step adjustable massage system, active ambient lighting, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, HEPA air filter, Mercedes Me connected car tech, panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, Burmester surround sound system and a head-up display.
Mercedes-Benz EQE: Battery and range The Mercedes EQE 500 4Matic SUV comes equipped with a dual motor and all-wheel drive setup as well as an off-road package as standard. Powering the electric SUV is a 90.56 kWh battery, offering a claimed WLTP range of 550 km. It churns out a peak power of 408 hp and a max torque of 858 Nm. The electric SUV sprints from 0-100 kmph in 4.9 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 210 kmph. The battery supports up to 170kW of DC fast charging.
