Is the insane howl of the Lexus LFA turning into an electric whine? Lexus Electrified Sport explained

Many tech patents never really make it to a production vehicle, so when some patent fillings unearthed Toyota’s intent to build an electric vehicle manual transmission, not much head was paid. However, the company’s luxury performance arm Lexus is working on an MT for EVs. The system will come complete with a third pedal which we’re not sure if it’ll be called a clutch pedal since, well, electric vehicles don’t have a clutch, remember?
Moreover, this tech is expected to debut with the electric version of the Lexus LFA.The tech will appear first in the production version of the Electrified Sport concept, the green successor of the LFA. A prototype, in fact, is ready already in the form of the UX 300e. The system will be software-based and the code can reproduce the driving experience from different vehicles.

The details of the powertrain are not known yet but it will most likely get a twin motor setup which, the company project, will let the electric LFA do 0-100 kph in about two seconds. Specifics on the battery pack have not been revealed either. Lexus has, however, projected that it’ll deliver some 700 km in one full charge.
While Lexus has not put a date on when the production version will be rolled out, the company does however state that the Electrified Sport will not just remain a concept. So, when the electric LFA is here and it will definitely be a quick thing, the world will be a different place for the LFA has been revered as a shrieky petrol-powered missile, which will lose its combustion soul and sound with the spiritual transformation.
