China's BYD (Build Your Dreams) recently revealed its second product for the Indian market, i.e. the Atto 3 electric SUV. Considering its specs, we expect the new BYD Atto 3 to serve as a direct rival to the likes of the Hyundai Kona Electric, as well as the MG ZS EV.
Hence, we have put together a detailed specifications comparison between the three electric SUVs to find out if the new BYD Atto 3 has what it takes to give competition to the two well-established rivals.

The BYD Atto 3 is the largest SUV in this comparison. It's longer, wider, and has a longer wheelbase than both the Hyundau Kona and MG ZS
EV. However, it's the MG electric SUV which is the tallest one here.
Battery pack and RangeThe BYD Atto 3 gets a 60.48 kWh battery that provides an ARAI-certified range of 521 km on a single full charge, which is the highest out of the three. AC charging would take around 10 hours to fully charge the battery, while a DC fast charger will take it from 0 - 80% in just 50 minutes.
In contrast, the Hyundai Kona Electric gets a 39.2 kWh battery pack which provides a claimed range of 452 km. It can be charged from 0 to 100% in approx 6 hours and 10 mins through an AC charger, while a 50 kW DC fast charger will charge it from 0 to 80% in 57 minutes.

The BYD Atto 3 is the most powerful SUV here, with 201 hp from its electric motor. It is also the fastest accelerating one, with a claimed 0 to 100 kmph time of 7.3 seconds only. The Hyundai Kona Electric, on the other hand, has the highest amount of torque on offer.

The Hyundai Kona Electric is available in a single fully-loaded variant, priced at Rs 23.84 lakh for the monotone and Rs 24.03 lakh for the dual-tone version. On the other hand, the MG ZS EV is priced from Rs 22.58 lakh to Rs 26.50 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).
Meanwhile pricing for the BYD Atto 3 are expected to be revealed in December, before the electric SUV goes on sale in January 2023. The Atto 3 could be priced at a slight premium over the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric, with an expected price tag of around Rs 30 lakh.
