Updated Bajaj Chetak EV launch on January 9, 2024: Here's what to expect
Bajaj Auto is all set to begin the new year with the launch of the updated Chetak electric scooter. The 2024 Chetak is scheduled to launch on January 9, bringing a range of both subtle and significant changes to its design and mechanics. Earlier this month, the manufacturer also introduced the 2024 Chetak Urbane variant, and the upcoming model is anticipated to equip most of the enhancements on the top-tier Chetak Premium variant.
Leaked documents hint at notable upgrades for the 2024 Bajaj Chetak, creating clearer distinctions between the Urbane and Premium models.
The electric scooter is poised to feature a larger 3.2 kWh battery pack, offering an estimated range of 127 km (IDC) on a single charge. This new unit will replace the existing 2.88 kWh battery, which currently provides a range of 113 km on a single charge. According to the leaks, the charging time for the new battery is expected to be 4 hours and 30 minutes for a full charge from 0-100 percent.
In terms of performance, the 2024 Bajaj Chetak is anticipated to achieve a higher top speed of 73 kmph, compared to the current model's 63 kmph. One of the major updates includes the introduction of a new TFT screen, replacing the current round LCD unit.
This enhanced display is expected to offer features such as turn-by-turn navigation, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), remote lock/unlock, Bluetooth connectivity, and more. Additionally, the under-seat storage capacity is rumored to increase from the existing 18 liters to 21 liters.
