Simple ONE electric scooter India launch highlights: Price, specs, range, features

The 5 kWh battery pack on the Simple ONE is split into two packs, one of which is removable.

The Simple ONE offers an IDC-certified range of 212 km with 6% SOC left. This is the highest range offered by any electric scooter in India.

Deliveries will commence in Bangalore on June 6, followed by other cities.

Pricing for the Simple ONE starts from Rs 1.45 lakh, going up to Rs 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Bangalore). The 750 W portable charger costs Rs 13,000 additionally.

Six colour options will be offered with Simple ONE electric scooter, including two dual tone options.

The scooter can sprint from 0 to 40 kmph in 2.77 seconds.

The Simple ONE will get fast charging capability, adding 1.5 km range per min. The home charging will juice up the battery from 0 - 80% in 5 hours 54 mins.

The Simple ONE e-scooter will be equipped with an 7-inch digital display running Android OS with turn by turn navigation, document storage, Bluetooth connectivity, Battery and range details, call alerts and so on.

Simple Energy claims that the Simple ONE electric scooter is 95% localised.

The scooter comes with a 5kWh Li-ion dual battery pack setup with IP67 rating.

Simple Energy claims that the USPs of the scooter include its long range, being the smartest, fastest, the dual battery pack and a striking design.

The scooter will feature a 4.8 kWh Lithium-ion battery offering a claimed range of 236 km (IDC) on a single charge.

The Simple ONE will come equipped with an 8.5 kW electric motor, putting out a 72 Nm peak torque.

The Simple Energy e-scooter will put up against the likes of Ather 450, Ola S1, TVS iQube, among other similarly priced electric scooters in the Indian market.

Simple Energy had originally announced that the ONE electric scooter will be priced at Rs 1.09 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi including FAME II subsidy). However, in an exclusive scoop two months ago, we had revealed that the electric scooter will receive a price hike.

The Simple ONE e-scooter was first showcased back in August 2021, which means that it has been over one and a half years since then.

The Simple ONE is Bengaluru-based EV startup Simple Energy’s first electric scooter offering that will go on sale in the Indian market.
