Ola Electric is all set to open the purchase window for its entry-level S1 Air electric scooter in the Indian market tomorrow, i.e. July 28. Just ahead of the Ola S1 Air going on sale, the electric two-wheeler manufacturer has introduced a brand-new colour for the scooter - Neon. The unique paint scheme will be reserved for the most-affordable S1 Air variant, and is something that is available with no other mainstream two-wheeler in the market!

The new Neon is one of the six different colour options on offer with the Ola S1 Air. Other paint schemes include Stellar Blue, Porcelain White, Coral Glam (Red), Liquid Silver, and Midnight Blue. The S1 Air is equipped with a 3 kWh battery pack that can be fully charged in five hours, and will offer a claimed range of up to 125 km.

As against the more expensive S1 and S1 Pro that are equipped with a single shock suspension at the front and rear, the S1 Air gets new twin telescopic fork suspension at the front, while the rear is a dual shock unit. The S1 Air gets drum brakes on both ends, as opposed to the dual disc brakes on offer with the two other Ola Electric scooters. The more-affordable S1 Air also misses out on alloy wheels, but is lighter than the other two models by 10 - 13 kg.

The Ola S1 Air has a peak power output of 4.5 kW, with a claimed top speed of 90 kmph. The entry-level model is priced at Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom), which makes it Rs 20,000 and Rs 30,000 more affordable than mid-level S1 and top-end S1 Pro respectively. The Ola S1 Air will soon be joined by a new rival in the form of the Ather 450S, all set to be launched in the country on August 3.

Would you consider purchasing the Ola S1 electric scooter over the likes of Ather 450, TVS iQube, Vida V1, and Bajaj Chetak Electric? Let us know in the comments down below.Discover everything about the automotive world at Times of India.
