Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer Ola Electric today rolled out the 1,00,000th electric scooter from its Future factory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. The company commenced the production in late November 2021, Ola Electric has managed to achieve 1 lakh production milestone in just 10 months.
“Since embarking on our journey towards electrification of India, we have unlocked the potential of EVs in our country by offering customers a much superior product and experience than what any petrol alternative can offer. This milestone is just the beginning. The next 1 lac will be in half this time as the transition to EVs gathers even more pace. India is closer towards making Mission Electric a reality than ever before,” says Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder and CEO of Ola Electric.
Ola Electric achieves 1 lakh production milestone in 11 months
Ola Electric witnessed a strong sale of 20,000 units during the festive season in October 2022, says the official statement. The company reported a Month-on-Month sales growth of 60%, leaving behind the other electric two-wheeler manufacturers in India, said a media release.
The Ola S1 is priced at Rs 1 lakh, while the Ola S1 Pro is available at a price point of Rs 1.39 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom). Ola electric scooters can be purchased through the official website.
The company has recently launched the all-new Ola S1 Air at Rs 84,999, making it one of the most affordable scooters in the Indian market. The latest Ola S1 Air is equipped with a 7.0-inch TFT touchscreen instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and steel wheels.
Booking for the Ola S1 Air will start from February 2023, while deliveries are scheduled to commence from April 2023.
Currently, Ola has over 50 experience centres across the country and is planning to open 200 centres by March 2023.
