Vida, the electric mobility subsidiary of Hero MotoCorp, has entered the Guinness Book of World Records as its first offering, the Vida V1 scooter, ran non-stop for 24 hours at the company’s R&D facility, the CIT.

The electric scooter covered 1780 kilometres while achieving this feat and bested the previous record by almost 350 kilometres. Having started the record attempt on April 20 at 6:45 am, the six-rider team took part in turns and broke the existing record by 2 am. Post this, the riders went on to complete 1780 kilometres, thereby entering the history books.


Further, a team of CIT engineers helped swap the batteries in under 20 seconds during the run. As per the company, the ambient temperature was touching 40 degree celsius and track temperature was over 50 degrees while the record was attempted.

The Guinness World Record title achieved by the electric mobility brand read “The greatest distance on an electric scooter in 24 hours by a team in relay is 1780 kms (1106.04 mi) and was achieved by Hero MotoCorp’s VIDA V1, at Hero Centre for Innovation and Technology (CIT) Jaipur, India from 20 to 21 April 2023.”

The Vida V1 electric scooter is available in two variants - Vida V1 Plus and Vida V1 Pro. It returns a claimed riding range of 165 kilometres per charge. Further, the electric scooter has a top speed of 80kmph. The Vida V1 is available at a starting price of Rs 1.45 lakh and the deliveries had begun earlier this year.

The company said that it plans to expand its presence in the country as it is targeting 100 cities within the ongoing calendar year, 2023.
