Hero MotoCorp's EV subsidiary Vida, which launched its first electric scooter V1 last year, has now begun setting up its own EV fast-charging network starting with the cities where it retails the V1 electric scooter. The company has set up about 300 charging stations across 50 'key locations' in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Jaipur. These fast chargers can be located through the My Vida app, along with the availability, reservation, and payment through the same app.
Vida V1 electric scooter comes in two variants that differ in battery capacity. Both variants can be charged through these newly set up fast chargers at a rate of 1.2 km per minute.
The Vida electric scooters can also be charged via Ather Energy's widespread Ather Grid fast-charging stations, since both Ather and Vida scooters use the same open-sourced connector design.
Hero MotoCorp launched its first electric scooter, the V1, via the Vida sub-brand. It comes in two variants – Plus and Pro. The V1 Plus, priced at Rs 1.45 lakh, has a range of 143 km and the V1 Pro, priced at Rs 1.59 lakh, has a range of 165 km. The variants differ mainly in terms of battery capacity.
The V1 Pro not only has a larger 3.94 kWh battery (compared to the 3.44 kWh unit on the Plus), but it also features fully customisable riding modes. Due to its larger battery capacity, the V1 Pro weighs 125 kg compared to the 124 kg kerb weight of the V1 Plus. It primarily competes with the likes of Ather 450X and Bajaj Chetak.
