Following the recent launch of the CE 04 e-scooter, BMW Motorrad has launched its latest electric scooter, the CE 02, to the Indian market, priced at Rs 4.50 lakh, ex-showroom. The bookings for the model have commenced across the BMW Motorrad dealerships in India with deliveries expected to begin soon. The CE 02 comes with a rather futuristic design and follows a simplistic design language. Interestingly, it costs a little over the ex-showroom price of the Maruti Suzuki Alto. BMW CE 02: Features and details


Tipping the scale at 142 kg, the scooter is built around a tubular steel double-loop frame. The stylish model is available with two colour options to choose from - Cosmic Black and Cosmic Black 2. In terms of design, it looks neither like a scooter nor a bike. In fact, the company calls it a ‘eParkourer’. It features an LED headlamp, a 3.5-inch TFT digital cluster, and other key highlights including a USB charging port, keyless ride, reverse mode, front-disc ABS, recuperation stability control and automatic stability control.



BMW CE 02: Battery, range and performance


Powering the CE 02 are two air-cooled lithium-ion batteries with a combined capacity of 3.9 kWh, driving an 11 kW electric motor. It delivers 55 Nm of peak torque. The scooter can accelerate from 0 to 50 kmph in just 3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 95 kmph. The batteries provide a range of up to 108 km on a full charge.

Overall, it has three riding modes - Flow and Surf as standard while you also get an additional Flash mode with the Highline package. Speaking of that, the Highline package adds a touch of premium feel with gold anodized forks. This version also comes equipped with a host of added features, including Bluetooth connectivity, a smartphone holder, a 1.5 kWh quick charger, and heated grips.
