Ather electric scooters to get costlier from Jan 1: Price hike details explained
Ather Energy has announced a price increase across its electric scooter range, with the revised prices coming into effect from January 1, 2026. The Bengaluru-based EV maker said prices will go up by up to Rs 3,000, depending on the model. The hike has been attributed to rising global costs of raw materials, foreign exchange fluctuations and higher prices of key electronic components.
For buyers considering an Ather scooter, December could be the last chance to purchase at current prices. The company is currently running its ‘Electric December’ campaign, which offers benefits of up to Rs 20,000 in select cities. These benefits include instant discounts on credit card EMIs, cash offers and a complimentary eight-year extended battery warranty on select models. Ather has also tied up with multiple financiers to make ownership easier during this period.
Ather’s current portfolio includes the 450 series and the Rizta, its first family-oriented electric scooter. The 450 range is equipped with features such as multi-mode traction control and MagicTwist, along with connected technology like Google Maps navigation, WhatsApp integration on the dashboard, and call and music controls.
The Rizta recently crossed the two lakh sales milestone and has played a significant role in expanding Ather’s presence across the country. Earlier this year, the company also announced a major update for the Rizta Z variant, which will now get touchscreen functionality. Ather scooters are sold through the brand’s Experience Centres across India and are also available for online purchase via Amazon and Flipkart.
